Training curriculum

Based on the input of the Dutch and Nigerian partners, knowledge gaps were identified. SEECE alongside Nigeria Training Partner, Rubitec Academy a certified Renewable Energy Training Academy by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) has developed a training curriculum to plug these gaps. The goal of the training is to support the Nigerian renewable energy sector to meet the rising energy demand by expanding the existing technical workforce in the renewable energy sector, while simultaneously supporting Dutch companies with their market entrance and expansion into the Nigerian market.

The engineering training will cover the physical working principles of a standard solar powered systems with battery storage, and how the various components are integrated to form a reliable system such as:

  • Component level
  • System level
  • Sizing
  • Control etc.
The technical training is more practical and addresses the standards, equipment installation procedures, and safety aspects such as
  • Safety Standards
  • Safety Procedures
  • Wiring
  • Best Practices etc.
In the sales & marketing training, the participants learn to critically assess the financial side of a standard solar-powered systems; starting with identifying the potential of the solution, carrying out a feasibility study, and sizing of the system’s components such as:
  • Techno-economic analysis
  • Feasibility studies
  • Business case assessment
Training Objectives:

The training program has 3 pillars:

Engineering

The engineering training will cover the physical working principles of solar powered mini-grids with battery storage, and how the various components are integrated to form a reliable system.

Technical

The technical training is more practical and addresses the standards, equipment installation procedures, and safety aspects.

Sales & Marketing

In the sales & marketing training, the participants learn to critically assess the financial side of a solar-powered mini-gord project; starting with identifying the potential of the solution, carrying out a feasibility study, and sizing of the system's components.
